On 1st October 2009 Ascendant Ventures was confirmed as the winner of the competitive tender to deliver Finance for Business for the South West Loans Fund Finance for South West Investment Group (Capital) Limited throughout South West England.  The South West Loans Fund is funded by South West RDA and by the European Regional Development Fund through the Convergence Programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and the Competitiveness and Employment Programme for South West England.

The fund provides commercial loans from £50,000 to £250,000 to eligible small- and medium-sized enterprises growth businesses that cannot secure all of their funding needs from the usual commercial sources.
